When the Pub Station opened inside the old downtown bus depot on the day before Thanksgiving in 2014, Sean Lynch hoped to be able to expand into the larger, rear portion of the depot within five years. The Pub Station has been so well received that he and his wife and business partner, Ann Kosempa, are planning to put on their first show in the venue’s new ballroom in early January. Analog is back: Record store to open on Minnesota Ave.

Bowie

Michael Ludlam had been thinking of opening a used-record store for a couple of years, but when a storefront went up for rent at South 27th Street and Minnesota Avenue, he wasn’t sure he was quite ready to start a business. No matter. The location was too good to pass up. “I felt I had to jump on it when it was available,” he said. (more…) Continue Reading →

It’s the day after, and the members of the Cure for the Common band are up and eating lunch at the Montana Brewing Company in downtown Billings. After a successful Saturday night gig at the Pub Station, the boys are addressing the imminent demands of a powerful hunger. Even though packing up equipment ran late into the night, all are up, all are in good spirits and all are eager to talk about the future. (more…) Continue Reading →

Slightly off schedule, Pub Station throws open doors

Pub

One day later than planned, the Pub Station opened for business Wednesday night. Owners Sean Lynch and Ann Kosempa had been shooting for a Tuesday night opening and had booked two bands, Har Mar Superstar and the Pizza Underground. But they came up just shy of getting the final OK from city building inspectors, and the first show was moved two blocks away to the Railyard Ale House. (more…) Continue Reading →
