I was driving along the Edgar-Fromberg Road when a big bend in the Clarks Fork River caught my eye. I got out of my car and was struck by a loud, unidentifiable noise that at first I thought was a waterfall. But no. I was hearing birds, thousands of them, perched on what seemed like every branch of dozens of trees near the river. I took this photo of a flock of them swarming between two groves of trees.
