A new study of housing needs in downtown Billings seems to suggest that the demand is there but is relatively modest, and that some fundamental improvements could entice more people downtown. The spring rain will find few obstructions as it falls over the Missoula Mercantile, with some drops now making their way to the dusty basement without interference. After nearly 30 years of illuminating Billings’ tallest building, the signs on the First Interstate Tower are getting updated.
