Red Lodge sisters respond to former prosecutor’s lawsuit

In their responses to a lawsuit filed against them by the former prosecutor for the city of Red Lodge, two sisters have filed counterclaims, saying that Joel Todd abused the legal system in an attempt to stifle legitimate public criticism. Todd filed his suit last month, accusing Diane Dimich, a member of the Red Lodge City Council, and her sister, Mary Cameron, the coordinator of the Carbon County DUI Task Force, of conspiracy, libel, slander and interference with a prospective business relationship. Dogs, humans to gather in honor of ‘Walking Tom’

Thursday night, many of the people and the dogs who considered Tom Weaver their friend will take to the sidewalks on either side of Broadway in downtown Red Lodge, to mark Weaver’s death and to remember his life. “I was a pretty good friend of Tom’s,” Gordie Blevins said. “I’m not saying I was his best friend, but my dog was probably his best friend. Red Lodge mayor announces resignation as of June 29

Red Lodge Mayor Ed Williams announced Tuesday evening that he will be resigning as of June 29, one day before the the official last day of Police Chief Steve Hibler, who announced his resignation on April 6. Williams could not be reached for comment, but Diane Dimich, a member of Red Lodge Community Oversight Representatives, confirmed that the mayor announced his resignation shortly after the start of a 7 p.m. meeting of the Red Lodge City Council on Tuesday.
