Since SCRaP Billings was founded in the fall of 2015, it has made some major moves — conceptually and physically. YAM’s 50th auction will feature rare Picasso print

This year’s 50th Annual Art Auction at the Yellowstone Art Museum will feature selections by 131 artists from across the country, including 100 artists from Montana. But the work likely to draw the most attention will be a rare print created half a century ago by an artist from Spain. Historical Society exhibit brings World War I home

One of the most difficult things about assembling a World War I exhibit at the Montana Historical Society Museum in Helena was deciding what to include and what to leave out. The Great War, as it was also called, lasted four years and claimed the lives of 9 million combatants and 7 million civilians. It was fought, one way or or another, all over the globe. Big retail, residential project planned for Montana Avenue

A Billings couple has plans to turn a large warehouse on the east side of Montana Avenue into a country mercantile, antique mall and breakfast-and-lunch cafe, with five loft apartments on the second floor. And because the warehouse, at 2019 Montana Ave., includes a big vacant lot to the west, the Liberty and Vine Country Store, as it will be called, will have its own 32-space parking lot, a rarity on Montana Avenue. Seven local artists unite for pop-up show this weekend

A two-day pop-up art show will be held Friday and Saturday at 4ZERO7 Gallery, a private gallery open for the event, at 407 N. 24th St. The show is called MIXX7, for the seven participating artists, and will run from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday and 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
