Here’s some odd news: Supporters of U.S. House candidate Ryan Zinke were forced to remove some illegally posted campaign signs … in Santa Barbara<\/a>, Calif.<\/p>\n

As columnist Barney Brantingham explains in the Santana Barbara Independent, supporters posted the signs, without a permit, in Hope Ranch, an unincorporated suburb of Santa Barbara, after a Zinke fundraiser there.<\/p>\n

It’s not entirely clear whether Zinke himself was at the event, but Brantingham said “Zinke gets his Santa Barbara credentials by being married to the daughter of Fred Hand, Lolita. Hand was a well-known Santa Barbara businessman in the \u201960s and has a street named after him.”<\/p>\n

He goes on to say that Zinke is “something of a character up there,” meaning in Montana, and he then tells of some of his statements and activities. But he doesn’t mention what is probably the most interesting development in the House race this year \u2014 that three former GOP state chairmen went out of their way<\/a> to trash Zinke’s campaign, saying he lacks the proper conservative credentials.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
