Tom Jacobson, D-Great Falls, characterized <a href=\"http:\/\/laws.leg.mt.gov\/legprd\/LAW0203W$BSRV.ActionQuery?P_SESS=20171&amp;P_BLTP_BILL_TYP_CD=HB&amp;P_BILL_NO=243&amp;P_BILL_DFT_NO=&amp;P_CHPT_NO=&amp;Z_ACTION=Find&amp;P_ENTY_ID_SEQ2=&amp;P_SBJT_SBJ_CD=&amp;P_ENTY_ID_SEQ=\">House Bill 243<\/a>\u00a0as an equity issue.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_15925\"  class=\"wp-caption module image alignleft\" style=\"max-width: 140px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"addboard wp-image-15925 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/lastbestnews.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/Tom-Jacobson.png\" alt=\"TJ\" width=\"140\" height=\"222\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tom Jacobson<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cI mean, these are our lands,&#8221; he said. &#8220;They\u2019re not for rent, they\u2019re not for sale, they belong to the people, and when we allow outfitters to use those lands when the public cannot, it\u2019s definitely an unfair issue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nicole Rolf, national affairs director for the Montana Farm Bureau Federation, opposes the bill.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaking a landowner\u2014a farmer or rancher\u2014a criminal, making it a misdemeanor and a big fine like that, for allowing someone to cross their property is a major concern for us,\u201d Rolf said.<\/p>\n<p>The House Fish, Wildlife and Parks Committee will hear the bill Thursday.<\/p>\n<p><em>Freddy Monares is a reporter with the UM Legislative News Service, a partnership of the University of Montana School of Journalism, the Montana Broadcasters Association and the Greater Montana Foundation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Bill aims at response to haz-mat incidents<\/h4>\n<h6>By Grant Cole<\/h6>\n<p>About 10 people testified Wednesday for a bill that would create a task force to help communities prepare for and respond to incidents involving hazardous materials.<\/p>\n<p>Rep.
