The event begins at 7 p.m. at the new <a href=\"http:\/\/lastbestnews.com\/site\/2015\/11\/moav-partners-aim-to-build-new-coffee-culture-in-billings\/\">MoAv Coffee House<\/a> at the former site of Club Carlin on Montana Avenue. Smith<\/p>\n<p>\u2666 Chuck Tooley, Carl Sandburg<\/p>\n<p>\u2666 Corby Skinner, Philip Levine<\/p>\n<p>\u2666 Grace Hodges, Mary Oliver<\/p>\n<p>\u2666 Jake Music, Vijay Seshadri<\/p>\n<p>\u2666 Bernard Quetchenbach, James Wright<\/p>\n<p>Small plates inspired by poetry will be\u00a0catered by Joanie Swords of Harper &amp; Madison and Jeremy Engebretson of the Lilac restaurant.<\/p>\n<p><div class=\"well\"><div class=\"dfad dfad_pos_1 dfad_first\" id=\"_ad_652\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/mjhWkW\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/lastbestnews.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/201703_capeair_variable.jpg\" alt=\"CapreAir_Variable\" width=\"510\" height=\"180\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-18069\" \/><\/a><\/div><\/div>For example, a caviar on toast dish is based on \u201cFor Viola: De Gustibus,\u201d a poem by William Carlos Williams that begins:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeloved you are<br \/>\nCaviar of Caviar<br \/>\nOf all I love you best.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A caramelized onion quiche is drawn from \u201cMarket Women\u2019s Cries,\u201d by Jonathan Swift, who wrote:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is in every cook\u2019s opinion<br \/>\nNo savoury dish without an onion<br \/>\nBut lest your kissing should be spoiled<br \/>\nThe onion must be thoroughly boiled.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to a news release from MSU Billings, the program is part of the Pulitzer Prizes Centennial Campfires Initiative, a joint venture of the Pulitzer Prizes Board and the Federation of State Humanities council in celebration of the 2016 centennial of the prizes.<\/p>\n<p>The yearlong series, titled \u201cPulitzer Poetry 100,\u201d is presented by Humanities Montana, MSU Billings, Arts Without Boundaries, University of Montana, the Big Sky Writing Workshops and the High Plains BookFest.<\/p>\n<p>Other scheduled events are:<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_10909\"  class=\"wp-caption module image alignright\" style=\"max-width: 336px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"addboard wp-image-10909 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/lastbestnews.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/Carl_Sandburg_NYWTS.jpg\" alt=\"Frost\" width=\"336\" height=\"418\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Poet Robert Frost&#8217;s \u201cMending Wall&#8221; will be the basis of a discussion of the art of meaningful conversation on April 20.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>March 16<\/strong>: Billings poet Cara Chamberlain plays a Lannan Foundation film interview of Pulitzer-winner Gary Snyder, then leads a discussion of his work. 7 p.m., Billings Public Library.<\/p>\n<p><strong>March 24<\/strong>: Vijay Seshadri\u2019s reading is followed by an interview with Associated Press reporter Matt Brown, who is based in Billings and was part of a news team that won a Pulitzer Prize for Hurricane Katrina coverage at the New Orleans Times-Picayune. A reception follows. 7 p.m., Cisel Recital Hall.<\/p>\n<p><strong>March 30<\/strong>: Chamberlain plays an interview with poet Sharon Olds, who won the Pulitzer in 2013. 7 p.m., Billings Public Library.<\/p>\n<p><strong>April 6<\/strong>: Chamberlain plays a video interview with poet Maxine Kumin, who won a Pulitzer in 1973 and was America\u2019s poet laureate in 1981-82. 7 p.m., Billings Public Library.<\/p>\n<p><strong>April 13<\/strong>: Poet Dave Caserio presents \u201cStrong Is Your Hold: An Evening of the Poetry of Galway Kinnell,\u201d a multi-media collaboration of poetry, music and dance with Parker Brown and Krista Leigh-Pasini. 7 p.m., 2905 Montana Ave.<\/p>\n<p><strong>April 20<\/strong>: Poet Lowell Jaeger of Big Fork, founding editor of Many Voices Press, facilitates \u201cGood Fences, Good Neighbors,\u201d a discussion of the art of meaningful conversation that draws on Robert Frost\u2019s \u201cMending Wall.\u201d 7 p.m., Billings Public Library.<\/p>\n<p><strong>April 23<\/strong>: Ken Ryan teaches a poetry workshop inspired by Pulitzer Prize-winning poetry. The workshop, limited to 15 participants, is designed for writers of all levels and includes a copy of Ryan\u2019s \u201cThe Best of It: New and Selected Poems.\u201d 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Western Heritage Center.
