A newly formed group opposed to the use of animals in circuses is planning a series of protests during the 66th Annual Al Bedoo Shrine Circus in Billings. Montanans Against Animal Circuses is planning its main protest for noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, at the Shrine Auditorium, 1125 Broadwater Ave., but it intends to have at least some protesters at each of the nine shows scheduled for March 29 through April 2. Snoop Dogg played the Shrine Auditorium last Thursday. Before the show, in the midst of what would be the heaviest snowfall in 30 years, Snoop Dogg drove through downtown Billings, awed by the great heaps of snow already on the ground. He compliments his nephew, who is driving, and says someday he’d like to try driving in the snow himself. He also breaks into an impromptu rendition of “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.” Best of all, the whole thing was captured on video, which he posted on Instagram. Continue Reading →
A series of panel discussions looking at “border town discrimination” against Native Americans will take place in Billings on Monday, Aug. 29.
