Jerry Kramer: From Jordan to the heights of the NFL

Jerry Kramer is best known for playing with the Green Bay Packers when they won the first two Super Bowls, in 1967 and ’68. The offensive lineman also played a big role in helping the Packers win seven world championships in the 1960s. Any discussion of his career is also likely to include mention of the epic contests Kramer participated in, such as the Ice Bowl (1967 NFL Championship Game), or his interactions with almost sanctified figures like Vince Lombardi. Nondescript office is home to ‘highest court on earth’

Walking into two small rooms in the basement of an office building on the 700 block of Central Avenue in Billings, you’d never guess they house “the highest court in the land, on the earth.”

Donations for Jordan ranch family rise to nearly $225,000

From all over the country, monetary support continues to flood in for the family of a Jordan-area rancher who died last month. Anne Miller, a family friend who helped organize an online fundraiser for the family of Owen Murnion, 38, who was crushed to death while unloading farm equipment in Jordan on Feb. 12, said donations had reached almost $225,000 as of Tuesday afternoon. Garfield County packs gym for young rancher’s funeral

JORDAN—Having already opened their pocketbooks, residents of Garfield County opened their hearts Monday to the family of Owen Murnion, who was killed in a farm accident four days earlier. Hundreds of people crowded into the gym of Garfield County High School in tiny Jordan to pay their respects to Owen, 38, and to show their support for his wife, Briana, and their seven young daughters. After rancher’s death, help pours in for wife, 7 daughters

Thursday evening, on the day a Jordan-area rancher died, friends started a Web-based fundraiser to help the wife and seven daughters he left behind. By Sunday afternoon, more than 500 people had donated over $54,000 to the family of Owen Murnion, who died Thursday while unloading farm equipment he had bought in North Dakota. Rushing into print before the nonexistent deadline

When I went into the Last Best biz, I thought one of the great advantages of this new kind of journalism would be the lack of deadlines. Working at a newspaper, you live and die by deadlines. You’ve got a physical product, a bundle of newsprint and ink, that has to be published every day of the year.
