Vince Larsen: A good citizen’s full life inspired many

Two things surprised me about Vince Larsen’s obituary, which appeared in the Gazette on Tuesday. The first surprise was his age. I don’t know that I ever thought how old he was, but 87? On what was almost a perfect summer day, a young dog lover by the name of Pari Kemmick went with some friends up to the Four Dances Natural Area early in the evening on Monday. They walked to the edge of the high sandstone formations there (often referred to as Sacrifice Cliff), then made their way down to the Yellowstone River bottom via a steep, narrow road. Creativity flows at meeting on future of power plant land

At a meeting called to envision future use of a 74-acre riverfront site that until recently held a coal-fired power plant, participants were encouraged to use their imaginations. That they did, coming up with activities and attractions for the old J.E. Corette plant site that included sport fields, an amphitheater, disc golf, picnic areas, a museum, restaurants, a brewery, high-density housing and a zip line to the site from the towering Sacrifice Cliffs across the Yellowstone River.
