‘Doubt’ makes persuasive theater opener

Nothing evokes the hazards of theatrical entrepreneurship like introducing the company’s first season with a play called “Doubt.”

New repertory theater group schedules first 3 plays

A new professional theater company in Billings will kick off its debut season next month, presenting three award-winning plays through next June. The Yellowstone Repertory Theatre, whose beginnings were charted by Last Best News in February, will open its first season with a production of “Doubt, A Parable,” by John Patrick Shanely, running Nov. 3-18. Dancer-director’s debut drama keeps it ‘real, raw, live’

Last year, for the Sacrifice Cliff Theatre Company’s New Works Festival, company co-founder Patrick Wilson went out on a limb and asked two non-writers to submit a piece for the collection of 10-minute one-act plays. The collaboration between Krista Leigh Pasini, a dancer and choreographer, and Matt Taggart, a musician and sound artist, resulted in “All Together Now,” which used music and movement, and no dialogue, to explore the dynamics of a family coming together for Sunday dinner.
