RiverStone Health and the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services say they have identified the first case of Zika virus infection in Yellowstone County. Here is the whole story, via a press release from RiverStone Health:
This is the fourth reported case in Montana and was found in an adult male who had traveled to an affected area. In February, Missoula County reported the first travel-related case of Zika in Montana. As of July 27, there have been 1,658 confirmed cases of Zika in the United States. Grace, the badly injured, half-starved horse that was rescued from the wilderness outside Cooke City, has a new owner. Park County commissioners voted Tuesday morning to allow Debbi Purvis to buy the horse from the county. The tattered plastic box had an Army post office box number from Vietnam that didn’t exist anymore. Inside was a tape recording of an F-100 Super Saber pilot flying out of Bien Hoa (pronounced Ben Waah) Air Base in that country; it was a way of keeping the pilot’s wife and family current with his combat tour activities. Love it or hate it, graffiti art is slowly spreading in Billings, covering more and more walls either by commission or permission. Probably the best known spot is the “art alley” between the 3200 blocks of First and Second avenues north. Bob Funk likes to talk about the absurdity of lumping everyone with a mental illness into the same category, even though there are more 200 classified mental illnesses. “Someone with diabetes isn’t described as a ‘physically ill person’ the same way someone with depression is described as being ‘mentally ill,'” he wrote in a recent opinion piece. The key is knowledge, he said, and in the same piece he went on to say: “Just as someone knows and understands the difference between a broken arm and the flu, people should know the difference between OCD and panic disorder.
