Hundreds of people gathered at the Capitol steps in Helena on Tuesday to voice their disagreement with U.S. Sen. Steve Daines. Daines is under heavy criticism for what protesters said is his unwillingness to listen to the citizens of Montana. Click on the arrow at top right to see more photos.

Katherine Haque-Hausrath, seen here addressing the protesters, helped organize the rally that was scheduled in response to Daines’ scheduled speech at the Montana Legislature on Tuesday. Daines postponed his address until Wednesday.

“I’m Montana’s national boxing champion. Now I’m bringing the fight here,” Duran Caferro said. Caferro was referring to his disagreement with new Education Secretary Betsy DeVos’ campaign contributions to Sen. Steve Daines.

Some protesters, including this one, brought Q-tips to the rally, as a way of reminding Daines to clean out his ears and listen to Montanans.
