The Billings Depot will be presenting its extremely popular Polar Express event again, on the first weekend of December. It features a children’s theatrical production, a visit from Santa, elf dancing, cookie decorating, a silly photo booth, ornament making and more.
Unfortunately, not every family can afford tickets for their children to attend this event, so the folks at the depot are asking for community help in two ways:
NOMINATE: If you know a family that works hard and would love to give their children this experience but simply cannot afford to purchase tickets, please nominate a family in need to receive free tickets to the event by emailing us at jennifermercer@billingsdepot.org. Because tickets are limited and the show is designed for children 3 to 7 years old, we ask that you nominate children close to that age range. Children must be old enough to sit on their own with the other children during the show.
Please include all the following information in your nomination: The family’s full names; family’s contact email and phone number; the number of children 3 to 7 years old in the family; why you are nominating them.
Children 3 to 7 attending free will also receive free pajamas to wear for their pictures with Santa, thanks to a donation from the Downtown Exchange Club Billings. In order to purchase the pajamas and get them to the families in time, all nominations must be received no later than Nov. 17.
DONATE: You can mail or drop a check to the Billings Depot, donate on our website, under “About our Venue,” or call us and we can take a credit card payment for donations of more than $50 over the phone. We want to purchase at least 200 children’s tickets, plus their adult chaperones, so this will take at least $3,000. The depot’s mailing address is 2310 Montana Ave., Billings, 59101.
All donations must be received by Nov. 15 in order to distribute the tickets and pajamas to the children.
