The grounds of MetraPark in Billings are a sea of tents and motorcycles during the BMW Owners of America International Rally.
Gregory Frazier, the adventure motorcyclist whom we have had the pleasure of writing about several times—most recently when he released a full-scale account of his five trips around the world—will be in Billings this Saturday.
Timing his visit to coincide with the BMW Owners of America International Rally at MetraPark, Frazier said he will be doing two feature presentations for rally-goers as an ambassador for Bob’s BMW in Jessup, Md.

Frazier, who lives in Fort Smith when he is not on the road, will also be giving one presentation for the general public. The free event, “Long-Distance Riding Adventures—102 Years, or Frazier Talks Naked,” will run from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the conference room of the Cabela’s store at 4350 King Ave. E.
Frazier said the first motorcyclist to solo around the world did so in 1912-13 aboard a one-speed, 7-horsepower Henderson motorcycle. The fastest trip around the world on a motorcycle took 19 days, 4 hours. The first couple to ride across the United States did so in 1913 on a Henderson equipped with a homemade sidecar.
Frazier will talk about all that and more, promising to dispel some of the myths that have grown up around the early motorcycle adventure riders while sharing secrets and exposing “naked truths” of modern-day adventure travel.
Frazier said he is in Billings on an “extended pit stop” during his sixth attempt to circle the globe on a motorcycle. He is the author of 14 books, the producer of 10 films on motorcycling and is the widely known “adventure editor-at-large” for several motorcycle publications.
He will be available after the show to autograph books and, in his words, “schmooze, kiss babies and their mothers while mixing with like-minded motorhead adventurers of any year, type, make or model motorcycle.”
