Montana Parlay: New Beginnings with the Start of Conference Play
This week marks the start of conference play in the Big Sky. That’s right, even though the Cats and Griz have both played one game against conference opponents, those games did not count toward the conference records. Griz fans will know doubt whine about having to face Eastern later in the year when it ‘counts’ and Cat fans will surely gloat if they are able to knock off Cal Poly.
Montana State -1.5 vs Cal Poly
With this line, the odds makers are basically saying that Cal Poly is a slightly better team and Cal Poly would be favored if both met on a neutral field. Cal Poly was looking like one of the best in the Big Sky, if not the FCS until they were walloped by Northern Iowa at home last week. The Cats showed they have one of the best offenses in the country, but once again can not stop the opposing team’s offense. This could be a shootout, and I’m going with the home team.
Cats 41 Cal Poly 38
Montana -13 vs Northern Arizona
This is an interesting line. Northern is 2-1 on the year with their loss coming at Arizona. They have already traveled to Stephen F Austin and won. The Griz are reeling coming off of two losses and an injury to their starting QB. This will be a tough game to win, let alone cover by 13.
Griz 27 Northern 24 Northern covers
Montana Parlay is 4-2 against the spread for the year.
