Where does Montana rank among hardest drinking states?
When it comes to drinking hard, Montana outranks almost every state in the Union. Only Wisconsin and Vermont edge out the Treasure State in terms of a population that likes to drink hard. According to a recent report from the Center for Disease Control, 11.7 percent of Montanans (10 percent of women, 13.4 percent of men) are considered to be heavy drinkers. Note, however, that they define a heavy drinker as someone who consumes an average of 1 drink per day. Interestingly, this is 100 percent of the people I know.
The county by county breakdown below is from the Washington Post. Interesting to see that our friends in Eastern Montana are keeping comparatively sober.
We learned earlier this week that Montanans rockout harder than the rest of the country. Couple with this drinking news, all we can say is party hard this weekend, Montana. And thank god Uber is coming to drive your drunk ass home.
