Montana Mountain Lion Cubs on Letterman [video]
David Letterman had on Jungle Jack Hanna a few nights back, and the interview featured some Montana mountain lion cubs. The cubs were a little frisky (they come on at the 2:14 mark of the video below), and despite their claws being out, no one was hurt. Letterman was impressed by the animals. “They grow up to be remarkable hunters, great stalkers,” he said. “You rarely see them, so this is quite a find, isn’t it?”
The Missoulian explains how the animals were found: “Just over three weeks ago, they were even tinier babies discovered by a Bitterroot National Forest crew fighting the Three Mile fire. The firefighters heard their cries – “It sounded like a bird crying,” one of them, Elizabeth Shellenbarger, had told the Missoulian – and found one in thick brush near a log that was burning. They grabbed that cub, called in a bucket drop of hundreds of gallons of water from a helicopter, then discovered the other, now caked in mud, rolling down a hillside.” See the full article here.
