Goonies

The Goonies

Thursday, Oct 2, 7pm

Presented by KBGA College Radio
Adapted by Chris Columbus from a story by Steven Spielberg, The Goonies follows a group of misfit kids (including such second-generation Hollywoodites as Josh Brolin and Sean Astin) as they search for buried treasure in a subterranean cavern. Here they cross the path of lady criminal Mama Fratelli (Anne Ramsey) and her outlaw brood. Fortunately, the kids manage to befriend Fratelli’s hideously deformed (but soft-hearted) son (John Matuszak), who comes to their rescue.

An exceedingly popular point of nostalgia in recent years, The Goonies will warm your heart, and most importantly, introduce you to just a great Cyndi Lauper song.

The 1491s

Comedy videos hosted by Migizi Pensoneau, founding member of 1491s.
Wednesday, October 8, 7pm

The 1491s recently participated in a Daily Show piece about the Washington Redskins that made national headlines. Founding member Mifizi Pensoneau wrote about his experience for the Missoula Independent. He’ll be in house on Wednesday to show you more of the 1491’s comedy works and take questions for the audience.

The 1491s are a sketch comedy and video group from the wooded ghettos of Minnesota and buffalo grass of Oklahoma. They are a gaggle of Indians chock full of cynicism and splashed with a good dose of indigenous satire. They coined the term All My Relations, and are still waiting on the royalties. They were at Custer’s Last Stand. They mooned Chris Columbus when he landed. They invented bubble gum.  The 1491s teach young women to be strong. And teach young men how to seduce these strong women.
