#MTmusic – Check out Ross O Brown from Toston
Ross O Brown, a Montana boy, is an innovative new country artist. Definitely worthy of your IPod.
His first release, Head Up Shoulders Back, has is getting great press for its sounds and Ross’s unique album-website that boasts original artwork for each song. See the show at headupshouldersback.com. (Even if country isn’t your thing, the website is worth checking out just for the cool presentation.
Ross grew up on a ranch in Toston, Montana where he started playing the fiddle at age 5 and the guitar at age 12. Shortly after, he started writing songs with a unique Montana style that are unlike those you hear on the radio today. In 2012, while playing with his band The Bad Intentions, he picked up and moved to Austin, Texas. While living in the live music capital of the world, he honed his songwriting skills and committed to his musical journey by playing his fiddle 6 nights per week.
Ross is home at the ranch for the summer and touring the region almost every week. He has only printed 500 CD’s for this first release and plans to create another interactive website and album after all 500 are gone. He calls it a “reverse kickstarter” because he has already recorded and done all the work up front, so you know what you are investing in.
