Do you love Montana?  Do you want to write for the greatest website in the state? You’ve come to the right place!

The Montana Mint is currently looking to add to our team of contributors.  We’re looking for fresh ideas, funny stories, and other positive contributions to the Montana Mint Community.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

What’s right for us: We’re interested in telling uniquely Montana stories: well written personal essays, interesting articles with original reporting, and photo galleries that highlight our great state.  We want you to write what you’re passionate about – be it the best pizza in Miles City, the Montana State Bobcats kicking game, a recipe for huckleberry ice cream, or why Reggie Watts is the funniest person in Montana history.

We love stories that highlight Montana’s creative side, traditional side, and weird side.  We want stories that remind us why we love Montana.

What’s not right for us: Jerks, robowriters, and probably anything political.  Occasionally we will post something political, but it needs to be objective (The Iran Deal: How Montana’s Delegation is Voting) or humorous (What if Ryan Zinke Really was a Waffle).  We will also occasionally post op-eds, including from Montana politicians.

Who we’re looking for:
Funny, interesting, and/or baddass Montanans with strong writing skills and a dependable work ethic.

Photographers and artists who want to share their work with the Montana Mint community.

Interested? Then here’s what to do: Email us at hello@montana-mint.com with ideas you have for specific articles and a brief description of who you are and what kind of writing you do.

In the subject line, write a very short description of the idea you have for an article, i.e. “Top 10 Float Trips in Montana” or “Story about wolves vs. ranchers.” Feel free to include more ideas in the body of the email.

If you already have a draft of a story or a previous writing sample that you think would be Mint-worthy, send it our way and we’ll take a look.

If you love Montana and want a rapidly growing forum to showcase your creative side, hit us up!
